1. Nadia's Jam - I got this program "Sony Music Studio" so that I would be able to make copyright free music beds for some of my video projects. Well, the music loops finally came in the mail and I was off! This is my first attempt at making music through my computer. My goal for this one was initially to make a music bed for a spot I was producing, but this came out instead. I had such a blast making it and I know there will be more to come when I get some free time just to play around!
2. Red Check Bed - Okay, here is the music that I was going for when I first started making music beds (a couple of days later). I actually had a hard time trying to come up with a concept for a web host commercial, so I made the music first. I am very inspired by music. The second I hear some music I really like, images just pop into my head, in the form of a of mini-movie. When I made this bed, it kind of had a Mission Impossible feel to it, so I tried to convey that feel in the spot. To see the spot that goes with this music, click on the image.
3. Bill Hicks - "Easter, COPS, NonSmokers". WARNING - FOUL LANGUAGE! Okay, you have been warned. Bill Hicks is absolutely hilarious. He's a great entertainer. Many years back, a friend of mine made a cd for me with a lot of spoken word on it. These came from that cd. It will definately get a chuckle out of you. "At 11.20pm on Saturday 26th February 1994, he died in Little Rock, Arkansas, buried in the family plot in Leakesville, Mississippi. At the memorial service Hicks' brother read out a piece Bill had written and requested be read: "I left in love, in laughter, and in truth, and wherever truth, love and laughter abide, I am there in spirit."
4. George Carlin - "Farting in Public". I especially love this routine, just tickles your tummy every time. I love everything about this man. From his stand-up to his acting to his silent facial expressions. George Carlin is a creative genius. He is a great story teller and has an imagination of three thousand children, all in one brain. George has got a lot of cool stuff to peek at on his website. Click on his face and it will take you there.
5. Vocabulary Lesson - This is actually a combination of two things that I smooshed together. The first is spoken word by Del Close & John Brent called "vocabulary lesson, cool, uncool". It came from that same cd of spoken word that my friend burned for me, several years ago. Well, in college, i had a project where I had to overlap audio, and this is where the idea came from. I have always loved Herbie Hancock's music, and felt that his song "Chameleon" served as the perfect background to give this spoken word umph!
